Luckily for us all, food wiz Blake Proud has got you covered. You may have seen him cooking up a storm on My Kitchen Rules or Our State on a Plate. He joined Kirste and Dan in the studio today to chat not only about some winning meal ideas, but also some of the amazing WA food he’s come across lately.
For the lamb fans out there, Blake reports that a lamb farm near Lancelin called Mottainai Lamb is his top pick. They use by-products from carrot and olive farming to feed the sheep. This leads to an amazing cut of meat, almost comparable to wagyu beef.
For a more every day meal, Blake also brought in his special breakfast cup. It’s not just porridge! Get yourself a muffin tray, put some ham, bacon, maybe prosciutto in the bottom. Sprinkle in some cheese, tomato, maybe asparagus. Crack an egg in there and whack it in the oven for about 15 minutes. that may sound like a fairly vague recipe, but that’s the beauty of it. these breakfast cups can be whatever you want them to be!
