National Reconciliation Week is happening from the 27th – 3 June and in the lead up of this week, the ‘Ni’ Cultural Awareness Workshop is happening on the 14th of May. This is a one day cultural awareness yarn workshop for church and community leaders and volunteers. The workshop will also look at things such as: 
  • Pre-colonization: Aboriginal culture and lifestyle
  • The impact of colonization
  • The consequences of unresolved trauma
  • The differences between Aboriginal and Western world views
  • The way forward

Bec and Jeziel had the great pleasure of speaking to Dena Gower who is the board chair for Moorditj Keila and Keren Masters who is also part of the board. Both of them are the facilitators of this workshop and they spoke about what to expect at the workshop and what to do if people want to host a workshop.

Morning & Afternoon Tea Provided.
