Technology is a tool, and it’s making our lives easier but its also changing how work is done. So we must ask ourselves ‘how do we live richly and fill our lives with joy with this type of technology?’
As artificial intelligence is programmed to read everything on a certain subject matter without understanding the context of an author, it’s actually been found that machines can be racist and sexist.
If an author has beliefs such as women shouldn’t work – they should only stay at home and be domestic, that machine will take that as input and makes its decisions based off those values. Machines can’t make judgements or decisions based off those values.
There are so many unintended consequences of tech so it’s about what we say and what we do. We need to very deliberately listen and watch what happens, not just on our technology, but what is happening with our technology and encourage our kids to do the same.
