You know it’s going to be a good day in the office when you walk into the foyer to find a sea of cables and amps.
Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys have become regulars at the 98five studios and this round, they’re spruiking The Soul Rhythm Spectacular with Richard Jackson (USA) kicking off at The West Australian Spiegeltent on Monday 15th February at 8pm.
But before we talk about the serious stuff, let’s all take a moment to appreciate Adam’s socks and moccasins:
Ok. I feel better now.
Famous for his Velvet Sound and incredible range, Richard Jackson will present the works of his contemporaries such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, James Brown and many other great soul artists.
Adam (lead vocals and trumpet), Mark (guitar and vocals), Matt (drums and vocals) and Pete served us a musical taste tester to the tune of the Isley Brothers’ “Shout” and Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”. If you missed it, listen here:
The Soul Rhythm Spectacular performances are Jackson’s only Australian shows on his current tour, so this represents a not-to-be-missed opportunity for Perth groovers to hear this one-of-a-kind performer.
Multi award-winning outfit Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys recently won the BluesNews – Best album of the year (Germany) and the 2014 Fringe World Best Musical performance (Western Australia). Shows featuring the band have been sell outs at previous Fringe World festivals.
Don’t miss it!
