4 practical tips to take care of your mental and physical well-being

Mental Health Week is a great opportunity to address the importance of mental health and promote effective strategies to help people stay mentally healthy.

Adrian Munroe, from Richmond Wellbeing, joined Dan and Shannon to share some practical tips to take care of your mental and physical well-being. “There are lots of things that people can learn that are really practical and really common sense that can make a big difference.”

  1. Increase your mental health literacy: There are lots of great reputable resources online like Beyond Blue.
  2. Listen to your instincts: If you sense something with your mind or body isn’t right listen to your instincts and ask for help.
  3. Understand that you are not your experiences: If you have been through traumatic experiences remember that it does not define you.
  4. Take care of yourself: Maintain a healthy diet, get exercise, sleep well and get outdoors.
