Grant Dusting from McCrindle (Or as they like to call him Stat Man) joined Kirste and Dan to discuss another trend for 2022!

He gathered some statistics on ‘relational fitness’ and how our social muscles have changed since the start of the pandemic. Survey has revealed that Aussies are relatively laid back and fun-loving. Twice as many people considered themselves outgoing and sociable than people who are reserved and quiet.

3 in 5 Australians are less likely to participate in social activities

However, there is an underlying change where people are becoming a bit more reserved and hesitant. Lockdowns and restrictions have made more than half of Australians prefer to spend time by themselves. Organising social gatherings can be difficult as you have to consider restrictions and the chance of the event being cancelled. So people are more inclined to avoid the hassle and chill out at home.

“Our social muscles are atrophying a bit and need some exercise.”
